Live United Day of Action -
Bridge Walk & Volunteer Festival
United Way believes that everyone has a part to play in improving the common good for all. That is what it means to “LIVE UNITED”. Over 3,000 people participated in United Way of New York City's “LIVE UNITED” Brooklyn Bridge Walk and Volunteer Festival. The Day of Action highlighted the need to give back to their communities and help bridge the gap when it comes to education, income and health in New York City. After crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, walkers arrived at a volunteer festival, co-sponsored by the Mayor's Volunteer Center, to learn about volunteer opportunities around the city. Over 165 corporations, government agencies, and nonprofits assembled teams to participate.
